Ffunctional Vocational Training

Our Project Proposal titled – Vocational training for youth who are School Dropouts and Unemployed in Sindhanur Taluk, Raichur, Karnataka.Project No. : VT-269/KA-SR

This has reference to our project proposal bearing the above cited project number from FVRTS and your letter seeking clarifications on the proposed projects from this end. Many thanks for your earnest interest on our project and we herewith furnish the clarifications as required by you.

  1. According to the derails furnished by you, we understand that tailoring and beautician training is ongoing with the support of another agency. Why do you then need support from FVTRS for these trades? What is the relevance in repeating the same trades?

The present projects in Tailoring and readymade garment production and Beautician course training programme have been supported by the Karnataka State Women Development Corporation, Bangalore for 30 young women in Sindhanur town. The project has already been completed now. The experience in managing these trades success of the training courses and the local demand for the courses prompted us to propose these trades for impart training for the youth who are school dropped out with the support of FVTRS, Bangalore.

2. How do you train 40 trainees in a batch? Do you have infrastructure to impart the training?

The training will be done in two batches of 4 hours each. The forenoon batch and the afternoon batch will consist of 20 persons each. We have all necessary infrastructure and Resource Personnel to carry out the training for 40 persons in each of the trades proposed.

3. What so you mean by buitition training? Is it beautician course?

YES. Certainly it is Beautician Course.

4. How does the cost of raw material same for all the proposed trades?

The cost of the Raw materials was estimated roughly. However, we have now revisited the cost estimation of the Raw materials and enclosed for your kind perusal.

5. The proposed project does not have agriculture based trades. According to the funding policy of FVTRS the project should cover minimum of 30 per cent youth from agriculture based trades. Further, the project should cover minimum of 50 per cent youth from womenfolk.

Our proposed project in fact covers 30% of the youth from Agriculture based trades. We have proposed to train 120 youth (out of total 300 to be covered) under – “Motor Winding, Repair & Maintenance of Farm Equipment & Tools” course This trade will be proposed to cover 40 trainees in three batches. Further, 50% of the youth will be from women folk as out of 300 225 trainees will be female candidates.

6. Specify, how you are planning to incorporate entrepreneurship development programme (EDP) in the training.

The Entrepreneurship Development Programme will be conducted during the course of the skill development programme. 15 days during the Skill development training period EDP will be conducted.

7.       Furnish the curricula of the proposed trades including the entrepreneurial skills.

The curricula of the proposed trades are furnished for your kind consideration.

8.       What is the uniqueness of the project? What are the expected results?

The project envisages imparting employable skills to the participants. The project identifies selects and imparts training to such candidates who will earn their livelihood through the trades in which the organization imparted training on skill development.

The expected results are:

  • 90% + candidate acquire skills in which they are imparted skill development training.

  • At least 60% candidates completed the training would avail the credit assistance from banks and financial institutions to run their own trades.

  • 60% of the candidates successfully completed the training would run their own enterprise.

  • Another 40% of the trainees would find job opportunities in the trades which they are trained.

9.       What is your plan to organize certificates for the proposed training?

The certificates to the candidates who have successfully completed the course will be issued either through Nehru Yuva Kendra, Raichur (an autonomous organisations for youth development and welfare under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India) or through Jana Shikshana Sansthan, Raichur (an organisation set for training of unemployed youth with employable skills under the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India) Other possible and appropriate sources will also be found out

10.      Please note that there should be a minimum of 25 per cent of the total cost of the project as local   contribution and maximum cost of the project is 10 lack.

This point will be complied. The revised budget comprises contribution of 25% from the local source

11.     Kindly specify the experience of Sadhana in providing vocational skill training. List the trades   imparted, number of youth trained in each trade, present status of the trained youth.
